Qualifications to join: 1. Belief in a Supreme Being 2. Must be a man. 3. Must be "free-born" (Not bound to another person, or indentured.) 4. Must join of your own free will. 5. Must be of lawful age (Florida is 21 years of age.) 6. Must be well recommended (Happens after you meet the brothers.) How to join: Find a lodge you wish to join, and visit them before a lodge meeting is held. If it starts at 7:00 pm, be there at 6:00 pm and meet them. Look up lodges in you phone book, or on the internet. An alternate method, is by finding the Grand Lodge for your state, province etc. on the internet. Then write the Grand Secretary or any officer. Some black men prefer to join a Prince Hall lodge. That is a choice they have the opportunity to make. True Freemasonry does not tolerate racial intolerance. A man may join any lodge he desires as long as he meets the qualifications and favor of the brotherhood. What to gain from membership: A worldwide fraternity, centuries of tradition, a network of mutual friendship and aid, help for your community, possible college scholorships, retirement homes and spiritual awareness, just to name a few. Good luck and have fun! If I can assist please write me. Brother Ed, 32nd degree Mason!
